Asian Food Import streamlines with InStock WMS

Asian Food Import has taken a major digital step in its logistics development with the implementation of InStock WMS as a warehouse management system at its brand new logistics center at Gardermoen.

The modern warehouse, which accommodates over 24,000 pallet spaces divided into dry, refrigerated and frozen zones, marks a significant commitment to future growth and efficient distribution.

The new solution is tightly integrated with Visma Business NXT, which Asian Food Import has also adopted as its business system.

The combination of InStock WMS and Visma Business NXT gives the company full control and traceability throughout the value chain — from purchasing and goods receipt, to picking, packing and shipping.

“With our new facility and the digital solutions we have now implemented, we are better equipped than ever to meet the growing demand and requirements for efficient distribution in the grocery and restaurant market,” says the general manager of Asian Food Import. “The solutions give us both scalability and precision, which is crucial in our industry.”

InStock WMS has been adapted to the specific needs of a multi-zone warehouse where both refrigerated and frozen goods are handled in parallel with dry goods. The full integration with Visma Business NXT provides automatic data flow between finance, warehouse and logistics, which reduces manual work and increases data quality.

With the new facility and modern IT support, Asian Food Import positions itself as a leading player in the import and distribution of Asian foods in the Norwegian market.

Adventurous growth for Asian Food Import: From niche player to national food wholesaler

In just a few years, Asian Food Import has gone from being a small niche importer to becoming a leading player in the import and distribution of Asian food products in Norway. With an ever-growing product range, strategic investments in logistics and digitalization, and a solid foothold in both the grocery and horeca markets, the company is now on a growth journey that few could have predicted.

From local to nationwide

What started as a family-owned company focused on importing Asian specialty products has developed into a professional wholesaler with customers nationwide. Asian Food Import today supplies goods to everything from large grocery chains to restaurants, canteens and specialty stores.

The demand for authentic Asian food has been steadily increasing, and the company has succeeded in combining a wide range, competitive prices and high delivery precision. This has given them a unique position in an increasingly diverse and quality-conscious food market.

Full control and high efficiency with InStock WMS

InStock WMS has become a key factor for efficient operations in the new facility. The system is adapted to complex logistics scenarios with different temperature zone requirements and thousands of product variants. Automation of goods receipt, picking, packing and delivery has resulted in much higher precision and reduced error margins.

– We have had a huge improvement in speed and control. With InStock we know where every item is at all times, and the system manages the entire flow seamlessly together with Visma Business NXT, says the warehouse manager at Asian Food Import.

The efficiency of warehouse operations has not only resulted in increased capacity, but also a better customer experience and increased delivery quality – factors that are crucial in the competition for both new and existing customers.

Targeted development and close customer dialogue

A key part of the company's growth strategy has been to listen to customers and adapt the range and services to their needs. This includes rapid product development, special imports of in-demand items, and continuous improvement of logistics and delivery routines.

“We have grown because we have stayed true to what we do: authentic products, personal service and efficient distribution. It is about building trust – one delivery at a time,” says the company’s CEO.
