Release Notes v1.13
This version does not contain the major visible changes, but a major upgrade has been made in terms of framework on the server. This ensures that InStock uses newer technology and, among other things, ensures better performance, security and new possibilities. Beyond this, the biggest changes are related to communication with the so-called "erp services" that integrate with the various erp solutions.
Caching of data from ERP
To improve the user experience in InStock, caching of data from ERP has been introduced. Data that was previously retrieved from ERP "on-demand" (each time a user requested data), is now retrieved at fixed time intervals, and temporarily stored in InStock. By default, InStock requests data from ERP based on the following default intervals:
Sell orders (every 5 minutes)
Orders (every 5 minutes)
Customers (hourly)
Suppliers (hourly)
Dimensions (hourly)
These intervals are controlled via Timed Jobs and can also be run manually if needed.
Tracking master data changes against ERP
InStock can be set up so that the main location, GTIN and weight for an item that is changed in InStock are sent to and updated in ERP at the same time. These updates are now visible in the portal under "Transfers to ERP". This means that you now have full tracking of which changes occur from InStock, and can also follow up on any errors when updating to ERP.
Since changes to GTIN and weight are related to an item, and not a specific warehouse, these transfers are only visible when you check "Show data for all warehouses".
GTIN calculator
In all relevant quantity fields, you can now long-click and bring up a "GTIN calculator". If you have defined GTIN or other barcodes with different packaging sizes on the item, you will be able to easily select the number of the different packaging sizes and the system will keep track of the total number. This makes it easy to count the number of whole boxes and loose items.
Cost price from TMS
If desired, the cost price for shipping (in addition to the sales price) can now also be retrieved from the TMS solution when printing the shipping label, and sent to the ERP solution. This assumes that integration with ERP can utilize this information, e.g. for automatic creation of a shipping line on orders with both sales and cost prices. Retrieving cost prices is currently only supported from Logistra, nShift (Consignor) and Axia.
Planner
In the Planner function in the TMS module in InStock, you can now also see the number of packages per shipment.
