Release Notes v1.14
A brief summary of the major changes in this version. In addition, many more minor changes, adjustments, and fixes have been made.
Collection
If you have a picking list with many orders and the same item, you can now merge lines with the same item number and pick them in one operation. The quantity picked is automatically updated on the relevant order lines.
Find orders with one line item
A new menu option has been introduced in the order list to filter out all orders with only one order line. This makes it easy to create a picking list with many small orders, for example.
Find orders with the same item number
A new menu option has been introduced in the order list to find items with the most picks. A new image is displayed sorted by item number with the most picks. If you select an item, the order list is filtered to all orders that contain this item. This allows you to, for example, easily create a pick list with orders with the same item number.
Combined with filtering on 1-line and collective picking, you can effectively handle many 1-line orders for the same item.
Package overview on picking list
A new image has been introduced on the picking list for viewing and processing all packages across customer/delivery address. Weight and shipping product are displayed in the list, and can be easily entered. You can also edit and create new packages, as well as print shipping labels.
New QR command to specify shipping product
A new QR command has been introduced that can be scanned to easily select a shipping product. If you have a shipping product that is used a lot, this can be printed as a QR code that can be scanned instead of having to tap and select on the device. This QR command is supported in all screens where it is possible to enter a shipping product.
Easier merging of picking lists
If you have a barcode for a package, SSCC or picking list available, this can be scanned in the image to merge picking lists. Scanned picking lists are highlighted and placed in order at the top of the list. When merging, selected picking lists will be added to the picking list you are on, in the order they were scanned.
Configurable picking list templates
When generating picking lists from the portal, you could previously choose how to group orders and lines per picking list. Instead of choosing from a number of fields each time, this is now predefined in a "picking list template". By default, there are two picking list templates:
One picking list : A picking list is generated for all selected orders (this is always used when generating a picking list from the app)
Per order : A picking list is generated per order. selected order.
Other variations may include splitting an order into different picking lists based on line category or picking zone. This can also be combined with automatic generation of picking lists via time-controlled jobs.
Contact iSYS if you would like other variants than the two included as standard.
Configurable picking methods
A picking method determines how InStock should suggest which locations to pick from when generating a picking list. This is set per warehouse, but can be overridden per item.
The picking methods can now be configured. The four default methods Standard , Inventory , Fifo and Erp can now be changed, removed or new ones created.
Parameters that can determine the priority of locations to pick from are location type (picking square, pick, buffer), from prioritized zones, based on oldest date or quantity at location. In addition, this can be overridden to only use the main location or determined by ERP. A new option is to suggest the fewest possible picks; i.e. suggest picking everything from one location with enough inventory, instead of splitting it into locations with smaller quantities.
Contact iSYS if you wish to adjust picking methods.
Login via OAuth / Open ID Connect
InStock now supports login using Open ID Connect (OAuth 2.0). This means that you can log in to InStock by authenticating via an external service such as Microsoft Azure Active Directory (now called Microsoft Entra ID), Keycloak, Google etc. Currently, only the authorization flow "Proof Key for Code Exchange (PKCE)" is supported.
Contact iSYS if you wish to use this functionality.
Changing part number
If the ERP solution supports changing item numbers, item numbers can now also be automatically changed in InStock during item sync. If item numbers are changed in ERP, the item number will also change in InStock. Item numbers are changed from old to new everywhere in InStock (including history).
A prerequisite is that both the ERP solution and the integration with InStock support this. Contact iSYS if you wish to use this functionality, and whether it is possible with your ERP.
Display of "correct" inventory
InStock shows by default "booked quantity" as inventory. This means that the inventory at a location does not change until after the transaction has been posted. This means that if the inventory is 10 pieces and a person has picked 2, InStock does not show 8 in inventory until the picking list has been reported complete. InStock can now be set up so that the inventory quantity is displayed more correctly. In the case above, InStock will show the quantity 8 immediately after a user has registered the pick.
OCR scanning
The camera on the handheld device can in some cases be used for OCR scanning. This has been implemented on two occasions:
When picking items with batch tracking requirements. Such a batch number is normally written on the item/packaging in text; not as a barcode. By long-clicking on Batch number you get the option to OCR-scan the batch number. Hold the camera over the text on the item and select the correct text.
When printing a location label. If you have already marked your warehouse with location labels, but without a barcode, you can now easily OCR-scan the location on the existing label and have a new label with a barcode printed. Hover the camera over the name of the location and select the correct text.
Transfers to ERP
In the app, this function was previously often well hidden far down in the menu, and you did not see the "cranberry" indicating any errors against ERP. The function has now been removed from the main menu, and instead placed in the menu at the top right. In addition, an icon (and cranberry) is displayed at the top if errors occur. This allows you to quickly and easily see whether there are updates to ERP that have failed.
See inventory accumulated per item and location (video)
For items that are stored on an additional inventory dimension such as batch, date or serial number, inventory is displayed by default per combination of item, location and inventory dimension. With many different inventory dimensions (especially serial number), this can be impractical, as you normally want to see the total inventory for the item or location. InStock can now be set up so that inventory is displayed accumulated by default if desired. The user can choose to change the view anyway.

Stock dimension on prints
Printouts of content labels and packing slips can now also include picked batch number, expiration date and serial number on the lines.
