Release Notes v1.21

Brief overview of the most important and largest visible changes in v1.21.

Item

The inventory in InStock can be split for an item by batch, date and serial number. In addition, the option to split the inventory by “Item batch” has now been introduced. By using Item batch and linking the item to a receiving inspection, each goods receipt will create a new item batch with the attributes from the receiving inspection associated with it.

This can be used if you need to attach additional information to the inventory (beyond batch, expiration date or serial number). This can, for example, apply to fresh products such as fish and shellfish where there are requirements for tracking temperature upon receipt, ASC / MSC labeling, expiration date etc.

Ad-hoc location counting

If you discover or suspect incorrect inventory at a location, you can now perform a quick count of the entire location. In View Inventory, you can now select “Count Location” for a location. Here you can easily confirm or change the number of items, with similar functionality to that found on the count list. All items at the location must be confirmed.

Replenishment has been rewritten

InStock previously only supported replenishment from buffer locations using a fixed pick location (main location). Now, replenishment to floating pick locations is also supported.

We believe the workflow is also improved and more natural. Previously, you were presented with a list of items and main locations to move the items TO. Now you are presented with a list of suggested buffer locations where items should be moved FROM.

Printing of packing slip from ERP 2)

InStock can ask ERP to print a packing slip when picking is completed. ERP often has limitations on which printer the packing slip is printed on. InStock now supports requesting a packing slip from ERP after completion, and printing it yourself. This allows the user to control which printer the packing slip is printed on.

Various extensions around picking lists

  • In the list of unallocated picking lists, the option to select multiple picking lists and merge them into one has now been introduced 1).

  • User can be forced to select a category before selecting a picklist 1).

  • Filters for what is displayed in the list of undistributed pick lists can be configured. Do you want to see all by default, or for example hide pick lists with shortages 1).

  • For those who use compilation of picking lists (Shipments), you can now control where the app should navigate after completing the picking list. Continue to Shipment for handling there, or back to select a new picking list? 1)

  • The location field in the pick line list can be changed to be more visible. Location is normally the most important thing in the image, and can now be displayed with e.g. larger text size, in bold or italic font, and/or in a different color 1).

Various extensions around shipments

  • In Shipments in the app, you can now reopen a picking list that has been reported complete (but not sent to ERP).

  • In Shipments in the app, you can now see the contents of a package. Shows a list of items and quantities picked in the current package.

Footnotes:

1) Contact iSYS for configuration.

2) Not all integrations with all ERP solutions necessarily support this automatically. The functionality may require expansion and development of the integration with your ERP.
