Scanasia AS is live with InStock WMS
Scanasia AS has taken the step from manual registrations to a fully scan-based warehouse.
In September, the Oslo wholesaler went live with InStock WMS – integrated with Visma.NET and with iSYS in place on the warehouse floor from the first pick.
Asian food for businesses nationwide
Scanasia imports and distributes authentic Asian foods to corporate customers throughout Norway.
From the warehouse in Brobekkveien in Oslo, everything from noodles, rice, sauces and spices to tofu, dumplings, seafood and fresh fruit and vegetables are shipped from Thailand, Vietnam and the Netherlands.
The range spans dry goods, refrigerated goods and frozen goods – with brands such as Bibigo, Itsuki, Miliket and Trung Nguyen. This means many product lines, different temperature zones and goods where the best-before date is crucial.
From manual registrations to scanning
Before InStock, product movements were registered manually in Visma.NET. The inventory was only a sum per product and warehouse – without a full overview of where the product was, what date it was, or who had done what.
The goals were clear:
Digitize manual routines with app and scanning
Better flow in the warehouse and full control of inventory
Best before date and location management per item
Traceability of who does what in the warehouse
Today, inventory is kept in InStock by warehouse, location and date. Warehouse staff scan into the InStock app instead of entering into the ERP.
From decision to life
Scanasia confirmed its choice of InStock WMS earlier this year. In September, the warehouse was fully operational with the new system.
The solution runs in iSYS's cloud and is connected to Visma.NET via iSYS's standard ERP integration:
InStock owns the inventory. When counting and correcting, the total quantity per item is sent back to Visma.NET.
Goods receipt updates the purchase order in Visma.NET directly.
Pick and pack updates sales orders and deliveries, so that finance always sees the correct numbers.
Scanning is done on Zebra devices, with label printers for shipping, pallet and order labels.
Go-live was scheduled for a Sunday. iSYS provided a team at the warehouse for start-up and training of employees, and followed up on site the following day.
– More control, less typing
"We wanted full control over inventory and dates, and a warehouse where employees scan instead of manually registering. With InStock we got exactly that – and the transition went smoother than we expected."
"Scanasia has a demanding range of dry, refrigerated and frozen goods where the dates must be correct every time. That is exactly the type of warehouse InStock is built for. We are proud of the delivery and look forward to further cooperation. » Stein Lie . iSYS
