Release Notes v1.19
Brief overview of the most important and largest visible changes in v1.19.
Picking goods in another unit 2)
If a sales order line in ERP is registered as sold in a different unit than the stocked unit, picking can be done in this unit. For example, if an item is stocked in liters, but sold in pails. ERP must then return both quantity and unit in both stocked and sold units. The user sees and picks in the sales unit, while the inventory is updated with the correct stocked quantity.
Automatic calculation of weight when creating packages 1,3)
For easier entry of weight on packages, it is now possible to have this calculated and updated when creating a new package. All items that have been picked since the previous package was created will automatically be placed in the new package, and the weight will be calculated automatically. Since the picking transactions are thus linked to a package, you also have information to support electronic packing slip levels 3 and 4.
Information about closed packages to ERP 1,2)
Support has been introduced for sending information about packages and contents to ERP when a package is closed (normally when a shipping label is printed). The integration with ERP may need to be expanded with the functionality that is desired to be performed in ERP.
Extended option for sorting lines on the picking list
For more flexible sorting of picking lines according to the desired order, some new concepts have been introduced that can be included in the sorting:
The location's zone's category
For example, two shelves can be linked together in one aisle by specifying the same category on the shelves.
Parts of a field
For example, sorting by 3rd and 4th digits in location if these belong to the same compartment on both sides of an aisle.
Sort order by location
A new free field has been introduced at location (“Sorting”) to specify order.
Suggested shelf life upon receipt of goods 1,2)
When receiving date-controlled items, it is now possible to get a suggested shelf life. In cases where, for example, fresh products normally have a shelf life of 7 days after receipt, this can now be indicated on the item card. By setting “Number of days shelf life” equal to 7 on the item, InStock will automatically suggest a date one week in advance. The suggestion can be overridden.
InStock can also be configured to synchronize the number of days of shelf life from ERP.
Goods receipt against pre-registered certificate (batch) 2
In cases where goods require tracking on a certificate and this is registered on the order line in ERP, this can now be suggested when receiving goods. This allows you to check that the goods have been received with the expected certificate, and avoids having to enter it. The value from ERP can be overridden when registering a transaction.
Change of expiration date
If you handle fresh products with an expiration date, you can now easily change the shelf life of (parts of) the inventory. Via View inventory, you can long-click on an inventory and select “New batch”. In a new screen, you can specify a new shelf life, how much of the inventory should be changed, and whether to place the items with the new shelf life in a different location. In addition, a reason code must be specified. If desired, a default reason code can be set up that is always suggested. Upon registration, two inventory adjustment transactions will be created; one for down-adjusting old inventory, and one for up-adjusting new inventory.
Show inventory in number of packages 1)
If you normally handle goods in a packaging unit and not in a stocked unit, you can now display the quantity in both the stocked and packaging unit in the app. If an item in, for example, kg has a packaging size of 5 (e.g. 5kg in a box), the quantity can be displayed in many functions such as “(4) 20” or “20 / 4”. This way you can easily see the quantity in both the stocked unit, but also how many boxes this includes.
Support for printing RFID labels 1)
InStock now supports printing item labels with information about the item's GTIN represented as EPC/SGTIN-96. The printer must support printing RFID labels.
Alternative locations for item per warehouse 1)
Some warehouses also include a retail space in addition to the warehouse itself. In such cases, the store is often registered as one large location in InStock. To get an idea of where an item is located in the retail space, it is now possible to enter a list of “locations” to keep track of this.
In View Inventory, select Locations. This allows you to specify a list of locations (locations in the store that are not registered as a location in InStock). If this is specified for an item, it will also be displayed when viewing the inventory.
Displaying data in dashboard from other databases 1)
The InStock dashboard has until now only been able to present data available from InStock's own database. It is now possible to present data from any external relational database that supports JDBC. This could be, for example, data from an ERP in an internal network, even if InStock is located “in the cloud”.
Footnotes:
1) Contact iSYS for configuration.
2) The functionality may require expansion and development of the integration with your ERP.
3) Assumes that weight has been specified in the item master data.
